Does my right arm taste good or something?

Gael was twice bitten this week and the second time he just kept looking at his arm like he was wondering what is going on? The first time was at daycare where he and his best friend fought over a truck. He returned the bite with a slap and the two boys forgot about the whole thing. I on the other hand have no idea if I should scold him or put him in boxing lessons (slapping is so not manly).

At least he fought back! :) But yes, Gael, bitch slapping your best friend is not manly. A sucker punch, on the other hand . . .

Pick your battles. Decide what is important enough, what will matter in the long run. There is no formula, it's a matter of instinct and you can't be harsh all of the time. And you can't be "love" all of the time. Try to be consistent in the battles you fight. BUT, a child is civilized between 1 and 6. If you get control during that time you won't have problems after that. The way the sprout is bent the tree will grow.
AND, most importantly, there is NO parent that is confident they are doing the "right thing". Just do your best.
